Pre-Natal Music Bonding Workshop (PN):  
"Welcome to the Womb"
     This interactive workshop is designed to introduce clinicians to the field of Pre-Natal Music. Participants will engage in experiential exercises exploring sensory perception of the developing baby in the womb, and will learn about pre-natal music research, clinical practice models and techniques in this field.  Participants will receive materials, will gain extensive experience, and be trained to teach the 8-session Sound Birthing Pre-Natal Music Curriculum.  Prerequisites:  Open to music therapists, music therapy interns and upper division music therapy students.  Fee:  $500 for professionals, $250 for music therapy interns/students.
(Weekend workshops taught Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday; 22 CMTEs available for MT-BCs)



Creative Arts Birthing Childbirth Educator Workshop (CAB):  "Working With Couples in Pregnancy and Birth Preparation"
    This intensive workshop is designed to prepare clinicians for working with couples during pregnancy in preparation for labor and birth.  Participants receive materials, will gain extensive experience, and are trained to teach the 8-session Sound Birthing Creative Arts Birthing Childbirth Education Program that emphasizes art, movement, music, imagery, and birthing techniques. This program addresses psychological, emotional, physical, and spiritual preparation for birth through creative arts media.  An overview of anatomy and physiology of pregnancy and birth, terminology, procedures, Sound Birthing videos and birthing techniques are also provided.  Pre-requisites:   Open to music therapists, art therapists, dance/movement therapists, drama therapists, psychologists, counselors and birth professionals with a background in one of the arts. Fee:  $625 for professionals, $375 for undergraduate students/interns. Includes professional art supplies. (Weekend workshop format- Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday; 22 CMTEs available for MT-BCs)


Music for Birth Workshop (MFB):  

"Using Music in Your Labor and Birth"

    This 1-day informational workshop teaches birth mothers, doulas, childbirth educators and other birth professionals about how music can be used to support breathing and effectively manage discomfort during the labor process. Participants learn what types of music are effective for labor and birthing, as well as how music can help support different labor positions and movements. Participants also learn relaxation techniques, and other comfort measures paired with music are presented.    Pre-requisites: None, open to doulas, childbirth educators, birth professionals. Fee:  $125.  (One day workshop format- Saturday or Sunday; no CMTEs; a minimum of 8 participants is required to confirm workshop.)



Music Therapy Assisted Childbirth Workshop (MTACB):  "Working With Couples in Labor and Birth"     
     This intensive workshop prepares music therapists to provide Music Therapy Assisted Childbirth Services in hospital, birthing center, and home-birthing settings.  An in-depth study of music for labor and birth, and well as positions, relaxation techniques, and other comfort measures paired with music are presented.  Video-taped role-plays of birthing scenarios, assessment techniques, video examples of women experiencing Sound Birthing births, and group discussions are essential components of this experiential training.  Music Therapists will learn about the Sound Birthing MTACB Labor Support Model of Care, receive guidelines for creating programmed music, and learn ways to use live music in labor and birthing. Tips and tools for building a client base and a business in this specialty area are also provided.  Pre-requisites: Open only to music therapists, music therapy interns and upper division music therapy students.  Fee:  $500 for professionals, $250 for music therapy interns/students. (Weekend workshop format- Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday; 22 CMTEs available for MT-BCs)



Post-Partum Music Workshop (PP):  
"Supporting Moms and Babies After Birth" 
    This interactive workshop prepares to work with moms and babies using music during the immediate post-partum period, newborn, and early infancy periods (birth to 3 months).  Participants will learn about special considerations of moms and babies during the immediate post-partum period and how music can be used to support them during this time.   Use of music during the waking states, attachment parenting, bonding, sibling interaction, communication and relaxation for the family among other topics will be presented.  Participants receive experiential training, materials and learn to teach the 8-Session Sound Birthing Post-Partum Music Curriculum for newborns and infants.  Pre-requisites:  Open to music therapists, music therapy interns and students.  Fee: $500 for professionals, $250 for music therapy interns/students.
